Fare Thee well – mössa

Nu har det inte bara blivit en mössa utan två (och en tredje på gång). Här ser vi först den gröna mössan som min kära syster tror att hennes man kommer att gilla. Han är från Galway, så grönt och orange kan aldrig vara fel. Här på fotot är färgen lite off, men fotot (som den ofrivillige provaren hjälpt till med) ska istället visa hur jag gjort intagningarna.


På bilden nedan är färgerna dock helt rätt. Den gröna mössan är härligt gräsmattgrön och den blå intensivt kornblå.


Såhär gör man:

Fare-thee-well

Garn: Drops Big Merino (mössorna väger cirka 90 gram, så det behövs två nystan)
Rundsticka; Nr 4

Lägg upp 96 maskor.

Resår:
R1: rm
R2: 2rm, 2am varvet ut
Upprepa I & II i cirka 5 cm.

Mönsterstickning:
M1: 1 rm 2am, upprepa varvet ut
M2: 2 rm 1am, upprepa varvet ut
Upprepa M1 & M2 tills hela mössan mäter cirka 19 cm.

Intagning:
I1: 1 rm 2amtills, upprepa varvet ut
I2: 1rm, 1 am, upprepa varvet ut

I3: 1rm, 1 am, upprepa varvet ut

I4: 1rm, 2amtills, 1am, upprepa varvet ut

I5: 1rm, 2am, upprepa varvet ut

I6: 1 rm 2amtills, upprepa varvet ut

I7: 1rm, 1 am, upprepa varvet ut

I8: 1rm, 2amtills, 1am, upprepa varvet ut

I9: 1rm, 2am, upprepa varvet ut

Upprepa från I6 tills det är 14 m kvar. Dra då igenom garnet och fäst.

PS. Som jag skrev i ett tidigare inlägg så är mössan inspirerad av Drops Tristan, men eftersom Big Merino inte alls har samma stickfasthet som Karisma, så är det ju färre maskor. Och eftersom jag gör resårkanten och intagningarna helt annorlunda behövs det ett nytt mönster. Den är också lite kortare än deras mössa tror jag. Inget häng. Bara en enkel herrmössa.

Det enda som är samma är mönsterstickningen, och det är ju Farrow rib dvs. inget som Drops hittat på. Enter: Fare-thee-well.

Litl beanie for kotten

Size: 9 mths
Yarn: Søstrene Grene

CO 6.
K seven rows in the round.
Increase 6 every other row 9 times.
K until the hat measures 20 cm.
BO (elastic).
Roll.

Tingestar pattern: Hedda – the luvhjälm

This is Luvhjälmen. Sometimes, with small children, you need to make sure that the knitted hats stays on. At the same time, you would want to look smart with a luva and a nice pompom and all.

This little hat is a combination of that. 

You start at the top with six knits in the round. You go on like that for a while, and then you add six every fourth row. 

When you are OK with the width, you make four more rows with stripes, and then you leave four stitches on a string of yarn and knit 3 purl 1 on the right side, purl 1, knit 3 on the wrong side for about 11 rows. 

Bind off  (always on the right side, bur with purls) and leave the last stitch on the pin. Pick up 11 more stitches on the side of the ribbed part, knit the six stitches on the string, pick up 12 stitches on the other side of the ribbed part. And then go on with 3k 1p for a couple of rows (6–8).

Bind off, like above, and leave the last stitch for the crocheted band. Pick up a new stitch for the band on the other side. Make a small pompom and put it on the top. (Make sure you fasten it well...)

Ta-daaa! The Luvhjälm!

PS. I used a yarn in sport weight and needles 4,5. The hat I made had seven increases and it fits a newborn up to three or four months. It is easy to change the size by adding increases and adding to the stitches that are put on the string. Or change to bigger needles and a worsted yarn?

My lovely knitting daughter

Lately one of my daughters has taken up knitting and she creates the most lovely things. Like these wollen mittens, perfect for the super cold climate in Umeå in the north of Sweden.


And a little beanie to go with it!

Still going on...

My DS said that her DH might be happy for a pair of socks for his birthday. That's the black-and-blues up to the right. Under them a pair of 37-38s are finished.

With the yarn left over from the brother-in-law's socks I gave a little baby hat a try. Munchkin is the name of these hats and this is not the most beautiful one I've seen. They should be longer and much pointier.

Gray Gull beanie

The leftovers from the Clovis shawl became a small beanie that my mother quickly adopted when I finished it at her apartment tonight. Gull wings lace.

"This is great! I left my other beanie in a taxi the other day!"
